Meet the 90-Day Wool Habit Collective: The Little Blazer Company

From the Outer Hebrides to London: a colourful take on British tailoring

If there’s one thing the 90-Day Wool Habit is demonstrating, it’s that wearing the same dress every day doesn’t have to mean looking the same every day. My navy herringbone wool dress is proving to be quite the blank canvas. And, when it comes to adding colour, structure and a little personality, a beautifully tailored blazer can make all the difference.

Enter The Little Blazer Company, a British brand creating luxury Harris Tweed blazers designed not simply to be worn, but to be treasured and eventually passed on.

For the 90-Day Wool Habit, they’ve contributed their gorgeous Green Heirloom Blazer, together with a matching bracelet from their collaboration with British jewellery brand Toolally. And, there’s a fascinating story behind both the cloth and the company.

Meet The Little Blazer Company

The Little Blazer Company specialises in handcrafted heirloom blazers for children (and now much to my delight, adults), combining traditional British tailoring with contemporary colour and design. Every blazer is made in London using bespoke Harris Tweed cloth woven in the Outer Hebrides. The result is a rather wonderful combination of British textile heritage, classic tailoring and a decidedly modern approach to personal style.

But the business began with something much more personal. Their founder, Ria Morgan, stepped away from a fast-paced corporate career when her eldest daughter, Mila, was born with a physical difference. She wanted to be fully present for her family, which later grew with the arrival of her second daughter, Sofia. When looking for tweed blazers to style with jeans for her daughters, she found surprisingly little choice.

The children’s blazers available lacked the colour, character, comfort and attention to detail she wanted. There also seemed to be an assumption that blazers were somehow too masculine for young girls. So she decided to create what she couldn’t find. What began as a collection of children’s heirloom blazers has since grown into a luxury label for all ages, with the adult collection introduced after customers began asking for the same distinctive pieces for themselves.

A blazer that’s anything but ordinary

So it’s the Green Heirloom Blazer joining the 90-Day Wool Habit. Its bespoke Harris Tweed combines rich British racing green and forest tones with a red stripe and an earth-toned check. Inside, there’s a claret-coloured vegan satin lining, complemented by pebble-grey contrast binding.

It’s a striking combination, but one that feels surprisingly easy to wear with the navy dress. The blazer adds a completely different silhouette, bringing structure and a tailored finish to the simple shape underneath. And because the cloth is wool, it’s another opportunity to demonstrate how versatile this natural fibre can be.

Their collaborative bracelet from Toolally picks up the colours of the blazer, bringing jewellery and tailoring together in a considered look. It’s a lovely reminder that a practical wardrobe doesn’t have to be a boring one.

Wool with character

Wool is central to The Little Blazer Company’s identity, and not simply because of its long association with British tailoring. The founder chose Harris Tweed for its texture, durability, warmth and longevity, but also for its extraordinary ability to bring depth and richness to colour. And colour really is at the heart of this business.

Traditional tweed is sometimes associated with muted country shades, but The Little Blazer Company demonstrates just how contemporary and expressive it can be. Ria hopes people will see that choosing clothes for longevity doesn’t mean sacrificing individuality.

“For us, the future of fashion isn’t about removing joy from what we wear. It’s about combining that joy with quality, craftsmanship and considered choices.”

I couldn’t agree more.

After all, the 90-Day Wool Habit isn’t about making fashion less interesting. It’s about discovering how much enjoyment and variety we can find in clothes we already own.

Buy less, buy better — and pass it on

There’s a reason The Little Blazer Company calls its designs heirloom blazers. They’re intended to outlast fashion seasons and become pieces that people keep, wear repeatedly and perhaps eventually pass on. Ria has a particularly practical perspective on this. Having grown up without a great deal of money, she understands the importance of choosing carefully and making a wardrobe work hard.

As she explains:

“Luxury shouldn’t simply mean a higher price. It should mean better materials, thoughtful design, skilled craftsmanship and a garment you genuinely want to keep wearing.”

It’s a sentiment that sits right at the heart of the 90-Day Wool Habit.

A well-made blazer might be worn to a wedding, dressed down with jeans, taken out for dinner or layered over a favourite dress. And, if it continues to earn its place in your wardrobe year after year, its value becomes about much more than the original purchase price. Of course, longevity also depends on how we care for our clothes. But choosing something designed to last is a very good place to start.

One thing you might not know about The Little Blazer Company…

Giving back has been part of The Little Blazer Company’s story from the beginning, including work with The King’s Trust, Freya Rose and the NSPCC, and a New York Fashion Week runway appearance to raise funds for childhood cancer.

For a business that began with a mother wanting something better for her daughters, that sense of purpose feels particularly fitting. It’s a reminder that behind the clothes we wear are people, skills, ideas and stories. And, perhaps that’s what makes something truly worth keeping.
