The Dress Project 2026

90 Day Wool Habit

One dress. Ninety days. A new way of thinking about wool.

Starting on 1st October, our founder Sarah will wear a single British wool dress every day for 90 days. The project, called the 90-Day Wool Habit, is a real-life experiment exploring how wool can simplify wardrobes, reduce overconsumption, and reconnect us with natural fibres and British craftsmanship. The dress itself will be a timeless British Wool woven shift dress, designed to be styled in multiple ways throughout autumn and winter using knitwear, outerwear and accessories from British brands and makers.

Why Wool?

  • Naturally breathable
  • Odour resistant
  • Renewable fibre
  • Washes less often
  • Biodegradable

But this project is about much more than one dress. It’s about asking bigger questions:

  • Could we buy less and wear better?
  • Could wool help us rethink our relationship with clothing?
  • What happens when we choose quality over quantity?
  • And what if getting dressed every morning became simpler?

Throughout the 90 days, Sarah will document the realities of living with wool:

  • styling one dress in different ways
  • caring for wool properly
  • washing less
  • layering for changing weather
  • and incorporating wool naturally into everyday life

The challenge will also shine a spotlight on the incredible British businesses, mills, designers and makers working with wool today.
