One British wool dress. Ninety days. And already, plenty to talk about!
My 90-Day Wool Habit has only just begun, and I’m delighted to see the story featured in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Farmers Guardian and Ilkley Gazette.
When I decided to wear the same dress every day for 90 days, I hoped it would spark conversations about British wool: where it comes from, what we can make with it, and how we can get more wear from the clothes we already own. Seeing that conversation reach new audiences is a wonderful start.
From Yorkshire to the farming community
It’s lovely to have both the Yorkshire Evening Post and our local Ilkley Gazette sharing the challenge. This project has strong Yorkshire roots, with yarn from Laxtons, fabric woven by Marton Mills and a dress made by Norton & Townsend here in Ilkley. Having Farmers Guardian feature the story feels particularly special, too. Every wool garment begins with sheep and the farmers who care for them, so I’m delighted to see British wool getting attention within the farming community as well.
You can read the coverage here:
- Yorkshire Evening Post: “I’m wearing the same wool dress for 90 days in a row to get people talking”
- Farmers Guardian: “British wool in spotlight during 90-day same dress challenge”
- Ilkley Gazette: “Yorkshire businesswoman launches 90-day wool dress challenge”
Giving British wool something to talk about
At Little Beau Sheep, British wool is already at the heart of what we do. This challenge gives me another way to share that enthusiasm and put wool to work in my own wardrobe. Over the next 90 days, I’ll be finding different ways to style the dress, sharing how I care for it and seeing how it fits into everyday life. There will be workdays, dog walks, evenings out and plenty of opportunities to get creative. My hope is that it encourages people to take another look at British wool, ask questions about their clothes and discover new possibilities in their own wardrobes.
Thank you to the journalists who have shared the story, the brilliant people helping bring the challenge to life, and everyone following along.
We’re only just getting started!
